If you take your time sewing the cover on, you'll get beautiful results. Thankfully there's a video showing the steps. The leather is soft and perfectly black, no blemishes and scratches.

I recently ordered the long frame cover and upper stem leather from Souma, and I’m blown away by the craftsmanship. The long frame cover fits perfectly and looks incredible – it truly elevates my Brompton. You can tell real care went into the design and materials. Long frame cover for Brompton

Love this! Looks great on the Brompton and I'm glad I got the sew-on version. A great addition to my bike.

It's a fabulous thing. Looks great and tight v the velcro type ones. Only thing I was missing was a few tips on the process. I. E. Make sure you don't pass one thread through another, this is how to achieve the pattern, make sure tight as going along.. I used a tiny screwdriver for that.

You get a rectangular piece of very nice tan leather, some waxed black thread with two needles, some leather conditioner, and a piece of velcro to help hold the leather in place while you sew.

Bank on at least an hour of quite challenging sewing. Fundamentally you're wrapping a rectangle around a curved pipe. The needle is fiddly to have it emerge from the holes without spiking a new hole in the leather. I had to use rubber/nitrile gloves to push and pull the needle.

If your thread comes out of the needle you'll need good eyesight & coordination or a needle threader. One should be included, in my opinion.

Once it's on it's a great addition to the bike, and feels much more pleasant to hold than the metal tube. The downside is quite a bit of not particularly fun work is involved.
